Deaf Theological Center

Our mission is to prepare the Deaf for an effective future in ministry and missional leadership. Our specialized ASL programs seek to provide a strong academic foundation in theology.

Application

Making the decision to enroll in an educational program is an exciting, particularly when you feel the call to ministry. Our program is designed to prepare leaders to serve and grow God’s kingdom around the world. We look forward to getting to know you, and appreciate your interest.

Class Information

Hermeneutics

This course will offer the student a basic study of biblical interpretation and application with the intent of applying insights gained to scripture crafting and storying for evangelism, discipleship, leadership training, and personal spiritual development.

Old Testament

A survey of the Old Testament, emphasizing historical, theological, and literary development.

New Testament

A survey of the New Testament with emphasis historical, style and theological development.

Doctrines

A survey of major theological doctrines of Christianity, such as the Trinity, revelation, God, creation, sin, the fall of man, Christology, the Atonement, the Holy Spirit, the church, the Christian life, and eschatology.

Missiology

This course will offer the student a basic biblical study of church planting as described in the New Testament and make application with the intent of applying insights gained to scripture crafting and storying on how to plant healthy, engaging, reproducing, Bible-centered churches in the cultural environment of Deaf communities.

*Break weeks can be used to make up for cancelled classes due to inclement weather.

Housing

The cost for housing is $300 per month depending on where the students are housed.

Meals

Students are responsible for their own meals. Refrigeration is provided for food storage. Microwaves are available for use. Plates, napkins, and plastic silverware are available.

Brentwood Baptist Church has a café where students can buy breakfast/lunch/dinner.
